Statement of Responsibility

DVDs are 'mediated' because you can't access the content without a DVD player. Books, paper photos and other printed material are 'unmediated', because you only need the object itself.

The 'carrier' is helpful for identifying any equipment you need (e.g. if the 'carrier' is a floppy disk, you need a computer with a floppy disk drive). Books and other printed material are 'unmediated', so their 'carrier' is left as 'unset'.
